TN: 2009 Domaine de Courcel Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens

  • 2009 Domaine de Courcel Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pommard 1er Cru (1/30/2012)
Very ripe nose of dried figs, prunes liqueur cherry and raisins. It is full, rich and dense in the mouth with a low acid feel and a chewy finish drawn out by sinewy tannins. 24 hours later and the wine had barely budged but was now emitting a pleasant waft of flora.

The fig/prune/raisin in the note doesn’t really sound so promising?

Too ripe overall, or is it still ok???

Right on the border for me Paul and almost a little ‘03ish’…needs time!

wow, sounds ripe even by 2009 standards.

I get that from some 09s too.

Surprisingly, I got it in their 2010 epenots too…

That is worrisome. I think I am on the hook for a couple of bottles of that with a group order.

The 2009s are starting to worry me. Too fruit forward and new world perhaps.

I am hoping for/expecting big things out of the 2010s

Careful, the villagers will come at you with pitchforks.
