    Totally muted at first. Some alcohol and play doh coming through. With mint and spice needs a long long long decant or 7-9 years to hopefully figure things out. Tasted a few hours later and it was still a mess. Alcohol was burning the nose with some pine tree on the palate. Really disappointed in this one. Hopefully the other bottle shocks me in a few years. Sorry but this thing was a mess… (82 pts.)

thanks for the note. Had this nearly 2 years ago, and it was a hot, gooey mess of a wine. Completely dysfunctional. The only person at a table (of 7) that poured more (well, the balance of the bottle after 2oz tasting samples were poured) was, not surprisingly, the person that brought it. He also declared it WOTN. IIRC, the 2000 LLC was WOTN, imho, anyway; the RC, was dead last, notwithstanding the aforementioned person’s vote (of 14 wines).

Perhaps not surprisingly, that was the last time that person got an invite to taste with our group.
