Great perfumy nose with vanilla, lavender and smoke. Palate has juicy blackberry and a touch of currant. Finish is medium long. Aging well… (92 pts.)

Popped an '09 Bedrock Griffin’s Lair a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised on how it was progressing. Now the key is to just keep my hands off these for just a little longer.

First look at this since release. 4 hours in…
Nose of fresh cut flowers, tobacco, smoky cured meat. Creamy palate with rich blackberries, a touch of acid and powdery tannins. Powerful but showing a nice finesse in its great balance. Finishes kinda gritty with a hint of black olive. Years of goodness ahead. Don’t rush it.
