I have always been a big fan of Ed’s Graham’s vineyard Pinot, and when I place my annual order I usually throw in a few Rosella’s as well. These showed up last week so after my Rhys disappointment I figured I would try one of these.
Opened and poured, but the level of dissolved CO2 was so high, that I put the Vacuvin on the bottle and pulled the gas out over the course of 30 minutes with some vigorous shaking (this is the only use I have found for this device-and it works very well) this note corresponds to the wine after this treatment
The color was a clear medium ruby red
On the nose there were Asian spices, citrus, red fruits and a hint of sweetness
In the mouth, the acidity hits first, and the flavors are slightly candied cherry, red fruits and citrus. It is medium weight, again with a bit of sweetness along with a good dose of acidity. The finish is long highlighting the spice component more than the fruits. Overall a very nice wine.
