    Wow! Stand up and be counted, as Brian Johnson used to sing, this baby is really good. I was instantly impressed by the very limpid red color of the wine as it poured from the just opened bottle…There is certainly nothing typical about this young and very natural wine. The second day is what it takes for this pop and pour baby to really show its stuff. The reduction has blown off and I am left with a nearly stunning and delicious clear red tart cherry and cheery drink that I cannot put down. Add in some chalky mineral and a sweet, mineral dryness, and purity. Great juice and recommended. (91 pts.)

I too loved this wine. Restrained spices, pure red fruits lively acids. “Cheery” is a perfect descriptor.
I tried it side by side over two days with the 2008 Alesia and I was very surprised by the huge contrast between these wines.The Alesia was very much shut down and seemed oaky on both days.

Thanks for the early note. Skipped the AV the last couple vintages and focused on the SVD’s. But since 2009 may be a strong vintage in AV, I decided to invest in a six pack. It’s good to hear positive reports!

Peter, it was really nice wasn’t it. I love Pinot when it has that limpid red color. I have had a very nice wine from the Wiley vineyard with some similar characteristics from Woodenhead Vineyards(cellars?)

Lew, I’d love to know what you think about the wine when it settles down from shipping and you pull a cork.

Guess I better try one of the '09 Anderson Valley Anthill’s after reading such a glowing note.
