2009 Alain Hudelot-Noellat Chambolle-Musigny- France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny (1/12/2012)
Needs some time to open…but I can’t wait. Pretty grapey and primary to start…though the fruit(cherry, raspberry, strawberry) is nicely polished and pure. Fine silky smooth tannin, killer floral spices(potpourri, dried rose), powdered white pepper, smoked cherry vanilla, licorice. Some tart cherry skin acid, and mineral crunch sneak up on you…giving it a nice feel and lift against the pure fruit. Soft and floral…with structure…tasty now…but will open up nicely in a few years! Impressive village wine! +pts (92 pts.)
I have bought some of this and it would be nice to have one that can be approached a little earlier! The 2005 and 1999 still need time, for instance. As for value, you’d be better off looking at the Vosne “Suchots” and Chambolle “Charmes” than that Richebourg. The Bourgogne PN is no slouch either.
I bought this and the 08 version on closeout from PC last month at $25-30 ea…stylistically, I much prefer the 08 for it’s transparency but both great values for what I paid
Love this wine, nice note Buzz. Mine from a couple of months ago:

Pretty nose of fresh red cherries with a dash of baking spices. Light to medium bodied with medium acidity. An appealing mix of tart and sweet red cherries and raspberries squeezed over a mineral foundation. Nice fruit intensity that persists through the long finish. I’ve enjoyed several '09 villages but this may be the best yet.
