2008 WillaKenzie Estate Pinot Noir Pierre Léon - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley (1/28/2014)
Dark ruby, blue-black fruit nose. Dry with medium fruit, smooth tannins with some bitter stemmy notes. Mineral with iodine, ripe cherries, good acid component. More on the fruity spectrum than other WK '08s. I would go with more age for my palate. With a day more open time, it has attained a velvety smoothness, light acid and tannins with just a little funk creeping in along with a hint of lemon/blood orange. (91 pts.)
