Opened this lovely bottle on a late afternoon for pure @ home enjoyment (no special reason). We think that Emily describes it very well: “Black cherry pie laced with mocha”. Yes, IMHO more on the mocha side. I do think that it needs some slight decanting (30 minutes or so) and it helps it open up alot. The nose is wonderful: Cherries and abit on the ‘pepperish’ side compared with the '07 (retrospective note- not sure about the strength of the pepperish, should rechceck). We think it can enjoy more time in the cellar. The '07 is currently in a better position than the '08 and both have good prospect. I would say the finish is medium, and slightly shorter for the '07.

91-92 at Pnp, 92-93 after some time in the decanter/glass, 92-93 for any occasion no special reason for opening. If you have the '07 and the '08 @ home I would say go with the '07 for full meal, go with the '08 for guests or if you prefer a slightly ‘lighter’ body wine.

For both, I’m going to vote with my wallet and get few more  A ‘steal’ deal and excellent qpr. Oh, and try it with sesame paste or Halve (Halva)… really good!
