2008 Scholium Project Naucratis Lost Slough Vineyards - USA, California, Central Valley, Clarksburg (5/2/2009)
The aromatics on this were wild. Is banana a fault? Not in this wine. Differences of opinion on whether it was banana pudding, taffy or runts. Nice mouth feel. Not too much alcohol, or it hid it well. Best Naucratis yet, for me anyway.

Bananas would be a fault to me. Not a big fan of banana flavors in things other than a banana.
This wine is insane! I love it. I was at the winery and helped with the crush. I still remember how amazing the fresh juice smelled. A few places have it retail for around $20. Not a big investment to try a Scholium Wine and can’t think of anything better in this price range, especially in Cali.
This is my favorite Scholium wine. I only bought two on release and while I love it, I am hesitant to buy more (is more even available?) because of the $5 charge to ship each bottle. I have a hard time swallowing a 25% shipping charge.

scholium-funny wines-funny smells. they are great to serve blind and ask people to guess grape variety…
I would normally agree with you, but in this one wine, it really wasn’t a fault.
