2008 Rivers-Marie Cabernet Sauvignon - USA, California, Napa Valley (4/11/2011)
OK…I must be missing something here…I was looking forward to drinking this since it arrived in November 2010. Decanted for 3 hours. First impression was HOT HOT HOT…so much overpowering alc. 3 hours later not much had changed. Had many of the typical Cab characteristics - dark fruit, oak, coffee…but this was NOT the $50 wine I was expecting based on the rave cellartracker reviews…Would take the Provenance Rutherford for 1/2 the price.
