2008 Pepper Bridge Merlot Walla Walla Valley - USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (2/12/2012)
Opened, second day. A dense and opaque garnet. Still tight on the bouquet, but exhibiting red cherry & cassis with hints of graphite and cedar. Backward but expressive blue and black berry notes on the palate with dark chocolate, black olive & cedar. Drinks with a regal silky feel. The tannins are fine, round & smooth. It’s enjoyable, but don’t touch this for 2-3 years. It should be a stunner. (93 pts.)
