    Luc Morlet continues to be on fire. His Boswell BTK 2007 was one of my top five 2007s and this is right near that same level. Popped and poured. Lovely purple color. Floral nose. Pure fruit. Quite viscous and mouth coating. Is there a tiny trace of heat there on the finish? Let’s see how it develops after getting some air. (96 pts.)

Thanks for this note. I think this wine gets a big dose of To-Kalon Franc. Does anyone know if this is the case?

It’s a decent amount, 76% Cab & 24% Cab Franc is what my rep told me. Luc Morlet is putting out some tremendous wines.

Luc was pouring his portfolio and Carte Blanche at the Bern’s Winefest in Tampa this past weekend. The wines were fabulous across the board.

I would love to try a To-Kalon Cab Franc, anyone know of one? I was talking to a fellow at my winery about two months ago who claimed Merryvale has one. Any insight?

That’s interesting about the percentage of CF. Thanks for the color. Makes sense.

By the way, I bought one of each of the first Carte Blanche wines to try them out. Seems the issue is always price on these new California projects, but across the board I liked them, Chardonnay, White Bordeaux blend and Reds.
