More on the Mugnier side of the spectrum. The epitome of unfussy, airy, red-fruited Burgundy to my taste.

I thought of both Barthod and Bertheau, not necessarily to compete with the Mugnier/Roumier, but that they are worthy and compelling. Chambolle is blessed with some excellent producers.

In the case of Bertheau, I’d love to see them throw all their Chambolle 1er (not the Charmes or Amoureuses) into their village wine, kind of like Roumier, Mugnier, and Vogue does.
