2008 Hartford Zinfandel Hartford Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (4/10/2011)
17% alcohol. 225 cases produced. From a historic Russian River Valley vineyard planted in 1910. Kind of an amusing year. A fire at the World Exibition in Brussels destroys the French exibit. Henry Ford sells 10,000 autos.
Dark ruby red. This wine has an extremely assertive nose of red and black fruit that can be detected from 18" away. On the palate, boysenberry, rasberry, black cherry, bramble and a touch of white pepper. You don’t see many wines (admitting to) 17% alcohol, but it is honestly undetectable. Well balanced and a loooong aftertaste. A distinctive and very enjoyable historic wine. (91 pts.)
