TN: 2008 Goldeneye Vin Gris of Pinot Noir

This bottle was a generous birthday gift from a friend that he picked up on his recent travel to Anderson Valley. My first experience with any Goldeneye wine.
The nose is interesting. It definitely has some of the 2008 fire smell in it. Smokey notes with orange peel and candied strawberry. It is seemless and round on the palate with raspberry notes, some peppery alcohol, and maybe a hint of caramel…something sweet. It finishes nicely.
We have been enjoying this wine for a few hours now and as it warms up the smoke character comes out more, but isn’t overpowering.
A tasty rose and a good monday night wine after a long weekend.
