2008 Drouhin Laforet Pinot Noir - A screwtop wine. No reduction. Slow-oxed for about 5 hours. There is just the barest hint of aromatic tertiary development with notes of floral incense, dark cherry liqueur, dried herbs and perhaps a hint of wood. There are very light refreshing sweet cranberry flavors with a little tartness on the finish. Its quite simple but it is an enjoyable and bright wine. Its kind of a rose+ and just fine for this acid lover.
Thanks for the note, Berry; this sounds like something I’d like to try.
(I think you’ve got one too many La’s in there and that it’s just Drouhin Laforet.)
thanks!
Berry, where did you buy this and what was the price?
Total wine and more. $10 or so.
Warning: Its light and tart! Most cali pinot people would not dig it.
I have a very broad palate. I used to buy something very similar (if not the same) at Spec’s in Houston (we’re talking around 2004) that I found interesting, if something of a Burg caricature. I think they were $4.99 or $5.99 then.
Sounds good Mike.
