TN: 2008 Domaine Michel Lafarge Bourgogne (France, Burgundy, Bourgogne)

Ahhh…this is a really nice simple sipper…a little rough at first…some sharpness…but a little air does well…very translucent, bright and fresh wild berry fruit, tartness, dried florals, and spice. Has the '08 crunchiness, slight earth and dried tobacco, and REALLY appealing florals! I’ve been drinking a few of the '07 Volnay, which I really like but can’t afford to drink everyday…this is a really nice, and less costly way, to drink Lafarge everyday! For $20 bucks…no brainer! Thank you for the note, Brian. Neither this, nor the 07 version of it, will please those looking for ripe, fleshy Pinot Noir, but they sing at the table, becoming nicely plump and supple with food. Perfect for a casual Monday night meal.

Disclaimer: I sell Lafarge wines (in fact, this bottle probably came from me).
