TN: 2008 Domaine Dublère Volnay 1er Cru Taillepieds

  • 2008 Domaine Dublère Volnay 1er Cru Taillepieds - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru (4/6/2011)
I had never had a wine from this producer before, but tried it based on the recommendation of Envoyer. A beautiful wine with nice fruit and a long, spicy finish. For the price, I was not expecting the complexity and elegance of this wine. Now I’m bitter I only bought three of these. Volnay continues to offer the best values for me in red Burgundy and I’m hoping I just found another producer in this commune.

His whites are really pure and beautiful, great value too. Pick up the Corton Charlemagne if you see one

Great news Tom. I have a bunch of these and I’m visiting Blair in a couple weeks. I’ve yet to try the whites and I’m really looking forward to it.

Tom, these wines seem to be the real deal. I had the 05 Corton Charlemagne recently and it was taut, bright, mineral and long. Lovely wine, and there is still some available from KL.

Martin-I didn’t see any on the KL website.

I tried last night, as well, and didn’t see any.

Gregg and Tom, sorry that I was not clear. By KL, I meant Kermit Lynch, from whom I got the bottle I drank. I am fairly certain that Kermit still has some of this in his wholesale inventory (I have a CA resale license so I have access to this information). I expect that your wine merchant could track some down for you.
