TN: 2007 Wind Gap Wines Chardonnay (USA, California, Sonoma County)

Enjoyed with pasta, finished in olive oil and garden tomatoes and basil, with some parmesean. Listed alcohol 13.7%. My second bottle in the past 6 weeks, with this bottle being tasted at home. Lemon oil, lime, some creme brulee but I won’t call this wine sweet. It has some lemon chiffon/pineapple type edges that feel ripe but it finishes with fennel, green apple and nice acidity. We drank the entire bottle over dinner and the wine doesn’t leave me feeling worn out from oak and alcohol. Enjoyed again.

Great note. I loved this wine as it is both rich and refreshing and it stands out from the pack. I actually preferred the Brosseau for being just a bit more nervy and fresh, but both these Wind Gap Chards make me hope that Pax keeps on making Chardonnay. Fab-u-lous.
