TN: 2007 Thierry Puzelat Pineau d'Aunis Touraine La Tesnière

  • 2007 Thierry Puzelat Pineau d’Aunis Touraine La Tesnière - France, Loire Valley, Touraine (3/24/2009)
Light, cloudy, cranberry in color with a watery rim.
Aromatically intriguing -wild strawberries, animal"esque" scents, earth, spice, & pepper.
Suprising body given the color. Smooth texture. Nose and palate in synch.
Grippy, dusty tannins that are just a tad drying. Solid finish. Good balance.
Something about Pineau d’Aunis reminds me of a walk in the woods.
Do people love or hate this grape, I wonder? When in the mood, I love it! (90 pts.)

Thanks for the note Kim. Love that pepper on Pineau d’Aunis. [cheers.gif]

I love me some Thierry Puzelat Pineau d’Aunis. How did you score a bottle? The only place in LA I know they have it at is Lou!

A couple of places in NY carry his wines - I’ve purchased them from both Astor and Chambers.
I think K&L on your coast has them too.
