TN: 2007 Tablas Creek En Gobelet (USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles)

Another fantastic wine from Tablas Creek. While the nose is a little quiet with some earthy notes, that all ends on the first sip. Nice depth to the pure red raspberry and strawberry flavors. The flavors linger as they are balanced by soft, smooth tannins That build and a dash of acidity. All of the elements are seemless and in good balance. I think this has room to improve, but sure is a joy to drink now. In a word, delicious. (92 pts.)

Totally agree with your tasting notes. I got one in a club shipment, drank it and loved it and bought 3 more (all gone). Should have bought even more. Very fun wine to drink. Tablas is very consistent with their quality. They are my favorite club.

I just rearranged the few clubs I am a part of to add these guys. With the quality and interesting wines across the board, its the only one where I am fairly confident I’ll like everything in the “standard” shipment.

I just wish I had discovered them earlier. Guess I’ve spent too much time chasing “the next big thing”

Whats the blend on this wine?
I am a huge fan of Tablas Creek, very consistent wines.

On xmas we popped an 06 Esprit Rouge that was the single most CORKED wine I have ever been around. As soon as the cork came out it filled the room. What a shame!

Mike,
It’s 48% mourvedre, 47% grenache and 5% tannat. I had a couple of 04 Espri blanc’s that were corked but that’s it so far. Their people immediately replaced them no questions asked. First class operation.

Thanks Gary. My girlfriend is on the list but had to put it on hold since she moved to MD and we can’t have it shipped here. however, we are moving up to NY so we will rejoin the list.
Our plan is to contact them about the corked Esprit, it has just been hectic with the holidays then preparing for the move. Nice to know they are responsive!
