TN: 2007 Syrah's - Carneros & Côtes du Rhône

  • 2007 Dain Wines Syrah Abner Las Madres Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Carneros (9/5/2009)
    Popped and poured, drank over 3 hours. Nose dominated by black olives. As others have noted, a very smooth mouthfeel. Elegant, soulful wine.
  • 2007 Saint-Cosme Côtes du Rhône - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Côtes du Rhône (9/5/2009)
    Decanted 1.5 hours, enjoyed over 4. Smoky, earthy nose, floral, a little funky. Such nice balance, fruit understated, showing classic blackberry flavors with crisp acidity. Paired with lamb sliders, goat cheese, grilled onions and kalamata olives. Delicious and my QPR of 2009.
