2007 Sokol Blosser Pinot Noir Dundee Hills - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills (10/17/2009)
I’m sitting here with a glass after a 33 mile bike ride on the Virginia Creeper Trail. The first 5 miles were in snow showers but the colors were beautiful. Oh and 3/4 quarters of the ride is downhill…
Lovely soft spice nose, a little oak and ripe black fruit. Delicious, straightforward on the palate, rich ripe fruit, more spice, mushrooms and plum. A little chocolate now. A good soft finish with little or no tannin. The 14.5% is carried well. This really is a delightful soft, ripe Pinot (but with nice acid and not flabby at all) for near term drinking. Not overly complex but high on the yummy factor and a definite thumbs up. (89 pts.)
