TN: 2007 Schrader RBS To-Kalon Cabernet Sauvignon

I’ve had every designation Schrader makes, and for my money the “regular” BTK is the best wine. TRB believes it so as well. None of them are shabby, but the BTK stands out to me year in and year out.

Leaky? No. Empty? Yes.
Let’s call them ‘well poured’. [wink.gif]
For the lucky few of the CLONYC tasting group, that’s just an ‘average’ Wednesday nights wines. newhere

I would mostly agree. In 2007 the CCS is really incredible as is the Sparky. The CCS is the most approachable of that year. The Sparky is a barrel selection each year of what Thomas and Fred think is “best”, but the qualitative differences are quite small at that level. It seems as though the Sparky would be the longest ager (especially since they are mags). I have consumed 3 of the 2001 MX mags (the precursor to the Sparky) and they were all still very young (and damn good).

The BTK bottling has the longest track history and is amazingly consistent.

Man I’d like to try that T6 wine.

I’d hold your $300. You should be able to steal some Schrader BTK at the auctions for under $200. The Old Sparky and the “plain” BTK are my favorites of the lineup historically. Great stuff!

What auction do you know about that I don’t where I can get '06/'07 CCS, T6 and Sparky for essentially release price plus shipping and taxes. I’m definitely a buyer at that price.

Or, you could take the $300 and buy six bottles of the Rivers Marie Cab set to go on sale in two weeks, or find two bottles of Realm BTK, or Three bottles of Myriad Dr. Crane!

Segui, wtf are you doing with a Jets avatar?
