TN: 2007 Rhys Alesia Pinot Noir Falstaff Road Vineyard

  • 2007 Rhys Alesia Pinot Noir Falstaff Road Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (2/2/2014)
Just wanted to post a note and say this is a really nice bottle of wine here. It drinks well from the get go but is better after an hour or two. Based on that feel free to drink up or wait, my guess is it will get a little better but not magnitudes better.

Ample but subdued fruit, viscous mouthfeel, new worldish in profile but not candied or over the top, rather subdued in fact with a good acid profile. Very nice wine. (90 pts.)

I drank my last '06 a few weeks ago, then popped the '07. The '06 showed a bit bigger/rounder and more ready to go, but the '07 was good, and I totally agree with your take, no rush to drink these.

This is my favorite Alesia and I have been happily enjoying them over the past year.
