I have been a huge fan of this wine since its inaugural vintage. In the 90s the wine could only be found in Europe, real hens teeth. Now quite available but unfortunately the prices have become prohibitive.
The 2007 is a hedonistic tour de force. Rich plum and red fruits, chocolate covered cherries and hints of spice. The tannins are super suave. Glycerol on the palate with a wonderful long finish. No reason to hold, this is an utterly delicious wine. Threw considerable sediment. 96
Kelly - I drank this last night and I agree it is ready to go and that surprised me. I expected young and wild, but it was lovely. I brought it to the NYC restaurant, The Leopard, and their wine guy was also impressed by how well it showed.
I would post my tasting note from CT if I knew how to do it. I can only start a new post with a tasting note.
Diane, just go through all the steps - but for the last one - on CT and then copy the text and paste the text into the “Quick reply” box on this thread. Voila, c’est finis!
Nice Kelly. I have a bottle here and there and they are always thrilling rides. I’d say it is usually more open and often bigger than Messorio, but ocassionally less precise. I have one of the 1997 left, which I’m looking to crack one of these days.
