TN: 2007 Paul Lato Pinot Noir "Duende" Gold Coast Vineyard

I have been sipping on this over the past two days, having been blown away by the 2007 Paul Lato Chardonnay a month or so ago. I’m pretty excited about this one as well. The wine is dark garnet for a pinot and offers an earthy, slightly funky nose. In the mouth, the wine is full bodied, offering loads of primary, dark fruit, a touch of spice, and lots of forest floor and minerals. While the flavor profile is big, the wine seems relatively weightless in the mouth and has great balance. The finish is medium to long. While the wine is definitely approachable now, it is far from its peak and seems capable of years of positive evolution. Another impressive effort from Paul Lato.

Sounds tasty. I like what Paul does. I stopped buying when the prices jumped. Not that they don’t deserve that price point, but there were others that worked for me, that were cheaper.
