Thanks to Michael Lewis for cracking this open. I don’t drink all that much Jura (by NYC wine geek standards), and this blew my socks off.

2007 Michel Gahier Chardonnay Arbois Fauquette - France, Jura, Arbois (11/4/2011)
Holy fucking shit. Tasted alongside a (very good) 2008 Roumier chambolle village, and this blew that off the table. I can’t imagine white wine getting better than this, as this has amazing intensity of lemony fruit, Chablis-like oyster blood savoriness, honeyed, mushroom overtone from the slightly oxidative style and a hint of marzipan. Yet vividly acid, even showing a hint of tannin. Dynamite. (95 pts.)
