TN: 2007 Merry Edwards Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

14.2% alcohol by volume. Viscous. Dark cherries on the nose. Dark cherry liqueur on the palate. Bright flavor. Some raspberry emerges along with soft, refined tannins. Long finish with a very slight tartness. Attractive, easy drinking. Just when I thionk the Merry Edwards Pinots are too pricy and I should drop off the mailing list, I open a wine like this and realize I enjoy it and would miss it if I didn’t purchase a few.

Thanks for the note. I have never been on the ME list but have always enjoyed the wines. Quality and consistency is an awesome thing.

Merry Edwards is also inspiring as one of the pioneer females in California winemaking. I have met her at several wine dinners in Raleigh and enjoy hearing her talk about her wines,.
