2007 Marcel Lapierre Morgon Cuvée Marcel Lapierre - France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Morgon (7/3/2014)
The texture is like silk, the aromas billow from the glass, and it is long on flavor while being weightless on the palate. Truly a wow wine, and the best bottle of Beaujolais I have had in quite a while.

Yup! Here’s my TN from 3/14:
*** Lapierre MMVII Morgon
14%. S bottling.
A slightly bitter edge on opening. Takes ca 2 hrs to settle. Moderate nose. Dark red. Deep and brooding but veeeery interesting. Veiled cranberry crunch, but more like a heavier PN than Gamay. Great balance and length. On the heavy side of Bojo (as expected). Seems fully mature but in no danger of decline, this has years to go IMO. Left in 1/3 bottle in fridge overnight. Next day: even better, really delicious! Exc
I did not find it heavy at all. It’s as if we had two totally different wines.
Opened an 07 Foillard 3.14 last night; rather subdued. We’ll see what it has to say for itself tonight.
David,
I have had this more than a few times and I can my notes are closer to yours.
I think the issue in tasting bojo is that often times people over state the ripeness level because they simply are not use to gamay being as fleshy as it is in this cuvée.
It’s sorta like when people state over-ripeness in Oregon Pinot when they are only use to acidic, over cropped examples.
