TN: 2007 Maestri Chianti--fantastic QPR

This is a wine that I first discovered in 2006 and posted notes on eBob, but I could not remember the right name, so I gave up. At the time the 04 was selling for $4.99. Went through a few cases.

I rediscovered the wine at my local Italian trattoria, now the 2007 vintage. The wine is just as good as I rememberd it. A simple Chianti that works amazingly well with food. bright acidity, nice red fruit, a simple and thoroughly enjoyable wine.

Otto

Does it come with a nice bright red and white table cloth Otto? I am starting to worry about you. Lewelling sucks and an Italian sweet red wine vinegar is great. [beg.gif] [heat.gif]

Jack, I still have 1/2 bottle of the Lewelling, so I’ll be able to post notes after 24hrs in the fridge. yesterday it tasted like blackcurrant juice, not recognizable as a Cab.

The Maestri easily comes through as Sangiovese, very bright, good red fruit.

I ordered a case of the 04 from winerz, but you never know if they can get it. I can always get 1 case or 2 of the 07 via the restaurant.

Cheers,
Otto
