TN: 2007 Louis M. Martini Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2006 version of this wine was a real steal and, knowing the early reputation of the 2007 vintage, I figured this was a no-brainer. Wrongo dongo. It’s green and piney and not especially attractive.

Pass.

Thanks for the note Bob. I also enjoyed the 2006. So I picked up a couple of bottles of the 2007 last week to fill out another order. I almost went heavier on them but then figured I ought to taste them first. I have not gotten around to them yet, but I hope they aren’t as bad as the one you had.

Re-tasted this past weekend at the LPGA tournament, where there was a tent full of high-production wines. Still green, still not to my liking.

I drank these a while after the above posts. I agree with you. A dramatic drop-off from the 2006.

This is the wine posted 90pts WA & ~$10 at costco? I had a friend gave me a bottle of this. I found not bad and a decent quaffer for $10, and I didn’t find green, but IMO probably tasted a little more like a lightweight Sonoma Zin than a Cab.
