    Another brilliant white. I liked everything about this wine. It had an absolutely lovely nose, full of gunflint, mineral, toasted nuts, smoke and ripe white fruit scents all coming together to form a complex, savoury melange. If anything, the palate had even more character. Again, very savoury, almost salty, with a mushroomy background note and more lovely minerality. No one would accuse this wine of having Grand Cru weight, but it did have good depth and palate-clinging flavours of pears and apples to go alongside its more savoury facets even as the wine closed off in a long, mushroomy finish. There was certainly Morgeot power here, but amazing thing for me though was the pitch perfect balance here that made the wine so easy to drink, lending it a great sense of deinition and focus too. Loved it. (93 pts.)

I have bad luck with the above wine from vintage 2000 and 2002. I need to open them faster then I wanted to. It tasted wonderful when young and started to decline very, very fast at age 5-6…

I can see why you say that. The 2007 was just about perfect for drinking - I really cannot imagine it improving much from here on. Strange though - I normally like my white Burgs with quite a bit of age on them.

I’ve had good success with the 2002 from my cellar. Last tried a week ago and 3 years before that. Last bottle slightly better than the first. No sign of oxidation. Loved the intense minerality on the palate. Very good with food. I enjoy both of the blanc Jadot Duc de Magenta wines.
