Bright red color. An inviting red fruited nose with mineral infused rose petal and a touch of sandlewood and asian spice. The red raspberry and cherry follow through on a well balanced palate. Nice acidity provides good lift and freshness through to a medium finish. Very enjoyable.
The aromatics kept drawing me back. And, while very inviting, they were a notch below the aromatics of the bottle that Tom Mortimer opened at the vineyard in late September. But then, what self respecting bottle of Oregon Pinot wouldn’t show better at sunset of a beautiful day in its own vineyard?
I’ll be very interested to see what a couple of years of bottle age does for this.
