TN: 2007 Lazy River Vineyards Pinot Noir (USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Yamhill-Carlton)

  • 2007 Lazy River Vineyards Pinot Noir - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Yamhill-Carlton (5/9/2016)
Dark ruby with lilac and pencil lead nose. Dry earthy mineral with slight tingle on the tongue, some funky leather and barnyard, lighter fruit and body with a bit of metallic acidic tannins. Drinking nicely with the restrained fruit. In a nice place with considerable freshness and vigor. Cherries with a hint of strawberry, cranberry and stemmy tannins in the background. Gotten considerably better with more age and open time. (92 pts.)

This was my third bottle @ half list, $16 from Vinopolis and each has gotten better over time.

I bought this bottle once on my honeymoon from the Carlton Winemaker’s Studio and then more recently from winebid for ~$15. Have thought it absolutely delicious both times.
