TN: 2007 Ladera Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley (USA, California, Napa Valley)

Nose of soft red plums and sassafras. Palate has a red fruited profile dominated by red raspberries. There’s a hint of sour cherries and pomegranate. A nicely plush wine with some primary qualities still noticeable. Fresh new leather, maybe a violet or two and hints of vanilla show through as well. Balance is decent with just a lean toward a heavy acidity feel. No difficult angles to get beyond and finish is long and true to what came before. I think this would be a spectacular ‘everynight’ wine in about 3 years, and a relative deal at $22 (90 pts.)

The pic shows 2006. Was it the 06 or 07?

PS- I thought their price was well north of $22. Was that just a retail pickup? That would be a nice coup.

It was the 2007. I rely on CT for pics and never check them. Thanks for pointing it out to me.
Local pickup. Something I don’t do too much of lately… [cheers.gif]

Agree that this is a very good QPR for everyday drinking. Definitely a champion in the price range. And it also comes in 375ml bottles, which is nice for solo consumption.

+1 The local shop sells it for $24 and i usually buy it up. They recently had the 05 Lone canyon and 06 Howell mountain for the same price, 2 bottles each, and I scooped those up at the same time.

picked up a few at $22 locally. thanks Mike
