2007 La Pousse d’Or Volnay 1er Cru Clos des 60 Ouvrées - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru (2/3/2012)
Popped and poured to pair with roast chicken. Bright ruby. Deep well of a nose with potent iodine, sandlewood, red raspberry, and forest floor scents. Bright acidity underlying still-crunchy cranberry, black cherry, and raspberry notes on the lushly-textured palate. Tartness, mineral, iron, and red fruits on the moderately-long but lovely finish. Tannins structured enough and quite integrated with fruit. Totally enjoyable, vivacious wine drained all too quickly. (92 pts.)

Sounds great, Doug.
Thanks for the note. I got some Pousse d’Or in '07. This one, and Bousse, I think.
Not here yet, but looking forward to trying.
'07 Volnays are really tasty right now.
Dennis,
You are right on. I am really enjoying my small stash of '07 Volnays, too much in fact. I’d like to see how this vintage ages!
First sampled this bottling in Paris last spring. Brought back great memories.

Doug
