TN: 2007 Kutch Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast (USA, California, Son

  • 2007 Kutch Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (5/13/2010)
Jamie’s best to date. A lively wine that strikes the perfect tension between the crisp acidity and the supple fruit of cherry, pomegranate, potpourri, flowers, and spice. The wine complimented dinner through its light and elegant flavors and texture. I did find the finish a little short, leaving me anticipating more…likely for the next bottle! (93 pts.)

Thanks for the note!

Have one of these in magnum that I might hold onto for a bit longer.

“I did find the finish a little short”

I would agree about the finish but not complain. Some of the best forward and rewarding flavors that need no evaluating. Drink and enjoy!! The two times I have shared a bottle of this i had a difficult time getting a second pour for myself!

I’m not sure your point here. Maybe lost in translation.
Its an observation, not a complaint.

One of the things that has impressed me about this wine is how it has come together in bottle. I wasn’t hugely keen on it tasting the component parts in barrel … I like it a ton more now. Really classy wine.

Nice note Scott. I’m down to two bottles of this one. Unless I stumble across some more of it I guess I’d better develop some willpower if I want to see how it develops with a couple of more years on it.

Would you guys recommend waiting any more on this or is it ready to do now. Have three and yet to open my first.

I’d take one for a spin now since you have a few and then leave the other two for a bit.
It was already quite nice to me back in January and this thread supports its positive evolution in bottle. As Tom said, it is a classy wine. I called it feminine in my note from Jan.
I’m leaving my mags for a while, but will try the 750s every year or so.

I, too, love this wine, but have already consumed the 3 or 4 bottles I purchased. I had it first by the glass at Press Restaurant in St. Helena last year, and liked it so purchased a few bottles. From what I have read, the 2008 is not so ready out of the gate, so I have yet to open any bottles of that.

I had three as well and gave one a spin … worth doing to see the wine at a very nice point right now.

Thanks! Looks like I got my first wine of the weekend lined up.
