TN: 2007 Kosta Browne Pinot Noir Russian River Valley

Nose: Red Fruit, not as candied as the past, a touch of green and some menthol.

Palate: Red Fruit, very forward but austere, black cherry, black raspberry, transitions well on mid palate with a strong cola note, the tannis are firm but still let the fruit lead with a touch of strawberry leaves, finishes with a bit of robitesum, there’s a touch of heat, nothing too overbearing though.

The second day mellowed out some of the tannins, and its definitely more integrated. Better than the prvious day.

Overall, not the usual KB, the cotton candy got dropped along the way and it came across as more traditional. Well done! (92 pts.)

The first bottle, sure. But by the 5th bottle seeing through your own eyelids becomes a problem…

Very true, and by that point the only thing I’d wanna see through is water [cheers.gif]

Rich - if you like the RRV from 07, wait until you try the Sonoma Coast. It’s on a completely different level…I tasted it with Michael B a little over a week ago.

Disclaimer: I used to work at KB and consider Dan and Michael friends.

That is great to know, which will make it hard to wait on these. I always commit infanticide on a bottle like this just to get a pulse on the lot, and I can’t help myself, then hold the rest till their time.I may be yelling fire in the hole again shortly for the SC.

Thanks!
