2007 Kosta Browne Pinot Noir Russian River Valley - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (3/21/2009)
Great color, I like when I can see through a Cali Pinot and you can here, dark ruby.
Nose: Red Fruit, not as candied as the past, a touch of green and some menthol.
Palate: Red Fruit, very forward but austere, black cherry, black raspberry, transitions well on mid palate with a strong cola note, the tannis are firm but still let the fruit lead with a touch of strawberry leaves, finishes with a bit of robitesum, there’s a touch of heat, nothing too overbearing though.
The second day mellowed out some of the tannins, and its definitely more integrated. Better than the prvious day.
Overall, not the usual KB, the cotton candy got dropped along the way and it came across as more traditional. Well done! (92 pts.)
