TN: 2007 Gérard Boulay Sancerre Chavignol (France, Loire Valley, Upper Loire, Sancerre)

  • 2007 Gérard Boulay Sancerre Chavignol - France, Loire Valley, Upper Loire, Sancerre (6/16/2009)
Very, very nice. Good acid and I think chalk/stone. Like licking a lemon/lime stone. Long finish. Makes the mouth water. One of my Garagiste Whites. Drank this over three nights and it held up well - not much change.
Paired very well with the crab souffle tonight. (89 pts.)

Ted,

Welcome to the board!

Thanks for the note. I have several of these and I love the 2007 Boulay’s. Great stuff.

Ted,
Thanks for the note. I’m actually picking up my 3 bottles from Garagiste tomorrow and plan to drink one this weekend. Appreciate the heads up.

Phil,
I’ve got a magnum of 06 Boulay Monts Damnes that I’ve been itching to open. You interested?

I am, I also have a mag of the 2007…you interested?

As a matter of fact, I am…

Thanks for the note Ted. I’ve really enjoyed these Boulay’s I’ve gotten from Garagiste. Exactly what I want from a Sancerre.

Is this less expensive than the Les Monts Damnes?
I had the 2007 Monts Damnes and found it super crisp, but very young. Should age nicely.

Thanks for the note. What was the price on this one? I missed it and your note kind of makes me regret that.

Jason

Ian and Jason,

This is his regular bottling. $20 versus around $35 for the Mont Damnes and Clos de Beaujeu

Nice price for sure!

This was $21.64 from Garagiste…add shipping and it was approx $25. I thought a good value. I only have one more.
