2007 Frédéric Magnien Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Borniques - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru (11/9/2010)
Notes taken after the bottle was open for five hours. Stunning, creamy and exotic nose of spicy fig cake, baking spices and lavender floral notes that leap out of the glass… I could just sit with my nose in the glass all night. Palate is less expressive with tightly wound red fruits with a slight sour cherry edge, rhubarb, and wet earth with a tannic grip that keeps everything in focus. Finish is long and acid-driven with some woody notes. Pure in every sensory element, with more than enough fruit and structure to develop further. Delicious.
