    “Ooh, the second label from Varner, eh? Sure, I’m up for this…I seem to recall some nice things written about the Chard. But I’m a Zin kinda guy…” And for $11? Yup…

Truly dreadful…open for several hours, never improved. No zin characteristics, and to call this a red wine is a challenge. Nothing at all to do with wine. Tastes of glycerols and unguents you would rub on your chest or head to help either with a cold or to grow hair.

I had a bottle of this, too. Well, part of a bottle. OK…three sips. Dreadful.

Really taken aback since the chard is such a great value.

Maybe I’m spoiled by that Officer guy when it comes to zin.
