TN: 2007 Feudi di San Gregorio Falanghina (Italy, Campania)

Clear, light gold. Refreshing young medium intense aromas of grapefruit, green apple and almonds. In the palate, it shows medium alcohol and body but the acidity is a tad low. Some waxy fruit notes come through on the medium finish. Drink up now. (85 pts.)

I was turned off enough that I actually emailed the retailer from which I bought this wine to ask if it was supposed to be this low in acid.

Odd, as this is typically a VERY high acid wine…

I am somewhat puzzled too, as two bottles drank on Malta last November were great. Agreed, it’s no Riesling acid-wise but definitely with enough refreshing acidity to last for two more years.

I thought it was meh.

I’ve had the 2008 and it was terrific. Super interesting nose…the kind of white that tricks you into thinking it will be sweet but there is no RS in the mouth.

Totally agree.

“A little grassy, a little hay, a little herbal. All on top of some sweet oranges and some lemon. It’s got a nice viscous, oily quality but the acidity balances it out.” 90pts.

Should have mentioned that this was from 375ml…just in case it makes a difference.
