TN: 2007 Domaine Saint-Damien Gigondas Vieilles Vignes

  • 2007 Domaine Saint-Damien Gigondas Vieilles Vignes - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Gigondas (2/26/2011)
Decanted three hours. Listed as “over 90% Grenache”. Dark purple color. Quite dark for Grenache. Nose shows red and black fruit infused with thyme and some black pepper. Good concentration and mouthfeel. Black fruit and black pepper dominate the mid palate. A brooding wine. Structured and tannic. This is a big, serious wine with years ahead of it. (88 pts.)
