TN: 2007 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Cailles

  • 2007 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Cailles - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru (4/14/2012)
Something about this wine made me go right out and purchase several more bottles after a first taste 2 months ago. Opened and aired in the glass for 30 mintues. Darker ruby hue. Fragrant, vinous nose of blueberry, raspberry, Pekoe, iodine, forest floor. Youthfully-charged layers of smoky black plum and raspberry fruit with a little bit of tartness on the palate mixed with iron, mineral, brambles, and oolong notes. Strong tannic structure smoothed by abundant primary fruit and balanced by energizing acidity. Finish was a recurring wave of rich, vivacious blue fruit gripped by earth and mineral, inviting another sip. Lots of capacity for aging but pretty darn delicious right now. (92 pts.)

Thanks for the note.

I really enjoyed a bottle of the '07 Pruliers… immediately went out and purchased more. Such a great producer.

Chris,

I need to find some Pruliers. I agree - Chevillon is a producer I now look for. And NSG is becoming an increasingly attractive address.

Cheers,
Doug
