2007 Domaine Pierre de la Grange (Luneau-Papin) Muscadet de Sèvre-et-Maine Vieilles Vignes Sur Lie Clos des Allées - France, Loire Valley, Pays Nantais, Muscadet de Sèvre-et-Maine (9/30/2009)
Nose is a melange of lemon, pear and pineapple with some slatey notes and a dusty soil quality. Some ripeness showing along with a bitterness that emerges in the midpalate. Clean tart acidic finish with some minerals. Not as even across the palate as you might hope for. Solid for the money but you can do better from Muscadet.

Do you think this is a function of vintage or underperformance? BTW< I agree with the note, but this is still a fine QPR.

Well the other Muscadets from 07 I’ve enjoyed quite a bit. This wine is quite different from the Pépière Briords to me being much less even. I’ve heard favorable things about Papin in comparison but its not in the same league with this bottle to me.
