2007 Domaine Bernard Baudry Chinon Cuvée Domaine - France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Chinon (1/20/2010)
Craved a Chinon and got a Chinon. This wine definitely speaks of place and grape variety.
Intriguing nose with lots of herbs , brambly red fruit, wet earth and rock, and some subtle floral notes.
Medium-bodied. Good depth of flavor. Good Acidity. Tannins need to soften a bit but the wine is drinking well with air. About 2 hours in, the fruit really makes an appearance and the tannins are less bothersome. I suspect just a couple of years in the cellar will bring this wine to a very good place. (90 pts.)
