2007 Copain Pinot Noir Hacienda Secoya - USA, California, North Coast, Anderson Valley (1/10/2010)
Pop and Pour, started out tight with the fruit somewhat a muted mix of red apple and cranberries, there is a sort of menthol note that comes from what i guess is the stem inclusion. After a couple hours the menthol fades into a much more earthy tone of mushrooms and wet earth with the fruit taking on a pure mineral driven apple and cinnamon feel. This has a way to go still and right now is really more about the finish where it lingers on the palate for almost a full minute, but is really still very primary on entry and mid-palate. Hold.
