2007 Azienda Agricola Claudio Vio, “Pigato”, Riviera Ligure di Ponente (Italy, Liguria, Riviera Ligure di Ponente)
This is a new one to me and not listed in CellarTracker. I’ll add it later. Sub $15 white wine from the Pigato grape. The vineyards are in the Ligurian Alps about 1000 feet above the Mediterranean.
The nose is nice blend of limestone, stone fruit, white flowers and spice. The palate is crisp and minerally with fennel, white flower, and a little citrus (almost a limeade quality in a good way.). This would be terrific with the right dish…a nice seafood dish…but it is good on its own. 87-88/100
