TN: 2007 Castle Rock Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

Liquid. Resembles wine. Red. Innocuous. More like a 2006, considering the big style. Don’t bother.

All in.

Don’t bother with Castle Rock or don’t bother with this vintage or both?

This vintage, this bottling. I can’t make a sweeping statement about Castle Rock in general.

Castle Rock Pinot Noir was a very good QPR 2-3 years ago, but I haven’t had one lately. Doesn’t sound encouraging.

For the price Castle Rock often makes decent drinkers. Not sure about the Willamette but most of their pinots have a good amount of Syrah.

BTW I am not being provocative. They always state this fact on their web-site. But for an $8 pinot, a little syrah ain’t going to bother me.

100% pinot noir according to the website. It’s just chewy and dense enough I would have bet on the syrah, but I’m guessing they pressed very hard.
